10 places you must see in Bangkok

With all that Bangkok has to see and do eight days wasn’t not enough however if you do visit are ten places you must see:

  1. The Grand Palace – every city has a ‘must see’ attraction if you visit Bangkok this it, without question one of the most incredible buildings I have been in eighteen years of travel.  Its architecture alone will amaze you.  If you do visit there is a very strict dress code.
  2. Wat Pho – as I would come to find, it is one of the most recognized structures in Southeast Asia.  It was constructed in the 19th century in glazed porcelain.
  3. Chao Phraya River and Waterways – one of the most scenic places in the city.  It is a multitude of water taxis and rice barges.  But the view of the city that comes with it makes it all worth it.
  4. Khao San Road – they call this street where east meets west, this area of the city is where you will find clubs, markets stalls, the food is more geared toward us people from the west.
  5. Soi Cowboy – leave the kids in the hotel   [supsystic-gallery id=175 position=center]
  6. Jim Thompson’s House – as legend says he mysteriously disappeared in the jungles of Malaysia.  The collection of Thai art and antiques are stunning.
  7. Floating Market – dozens of wooden row boats each offering the freshest of fruit, vegetables or flowers.  Even if you do not buy anything it is still quite a site to see.
  8. MBK Center – if you’ve ever wanted to see a mall with over TWO THOUSAND STORES this is your spot.  WOW!!!!
  9. Chinatown – I know this sounds like a given, but this is like none I have been too.  It is one the most colorful and energetic parts of the city.  It is chaotic, loud and exotice all at the same time.  It is also has the highest concentration of gold stores and market stalls in the city
  10. Wat Arun – it is one the most important religious sites in Thailand.  Wat Arun  this is one of Thailand’s it is where the spirits of the Thai Buddhist are guarded from dusk to dawn. [supsystic-gallery id=176 position=center]
