If you do only one thing in Bogota visit Monserratte, a mountain that rises 3,152 meters (10, 341 feet) above the sea level and it dominates the city center. A church built in the 17th century sits atop it with a shrine devoted to “El Señor Caído” (Fallen Lord). The summit also has a restaurant, cafeteria and a tourist shop.

A cable car takes you to the top of the mountain and as you rise higher and higher you see what a beautiful city Bogota is. Once you arrive the view is breathtaking as you look down across the city. El Senor Ciado is the center piece of the mountain, bathed in all purple the church just adds to the beauty. The restaurant that sits atop of Monsarratte is Casa San Isidro. There is no better place to be at sunset. If you do just one thing in Bogota visit Monseratte Mountain.
