Jaffa Road

I decided to walk back to the bus station which was on Jaffa Road one of the longest and oldest major streets in Jerusalem. The street is lined with outdoor cafes, restaurants, businesses and stores. It is joined with Ben Yuhda Street and King George Street to form the downtown triangle. The street also has some of the major landmarks such as ‘Allenby Square’ and Safra Square (City Hall) its sits on the seam of East and West Jerusalem symbolizing its goal of serving all those that live in Jerusalem.
The Ben Yuhda Street Pedestrian Mall is not to be missed it is the beating heart of center-city life: shopping, sidewalk cafes and an assortment of buskers from around the world offering their music. It is also the perfect place to sit and people watch after a long day of climbing mountains, I got myself a coffee, found a bench and just watched, I even enjoyed some street performers, it was the perfect way to end the day in this fascinating place called Jerusalem.
